Currently, we are looking for a Lead quality engineer to join our team!
As we build out the QA team further, this role will have substantial levels of autonomy. Reporting directly to the Head of QA, the lead quality engineer will work closely with the product team to get up to speed and take on the validation and testing in that area of the business.
Responsibilities:
Day to day, your responsibilities will span requirement gathering, exploring the built features, providing valuable feedback for improvements, and even showcasing the product through demos. From overseeing new features to ensuring a seamless journey from requirements to the live environment, you’ll play a key role in the full project lifecycle.
For a Lead QE, the role expands beyond working with individual squads, taking on a more strategic perspective across multiple teams. We’re looking for individuals with a robust personality, as this role involves navigating the intricate dynamics between product and development teams.

- You advocate for exploratory testing as an alternative or complementary practice to automation.
- Good communication, influence, and interpersonal skills.
- You regard testing as a craft and practice it accordingly.
- You can demonstrate experience mentoring others and developing testers in line with their career aspirations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others within a product development team (programmers, designers, product owners, etc.).
- Ability to fluently talk about testing—what it is and its value, as well as the testing you’ve conducted and the quality you’ve assessed.
- You have experience with formal coaching and want to continue this in your next company, or you want to move into that space as a personal aspiration.
- You have a deep knowledge of exploratory testing practices that you would be happy to apply as part of a delivery team.
- You’re able to show throughout your career a continuous appetite to learn new technologies and approaches.
- You have the desire to share your skills and knowledge with others.
- You can demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to new situations.
- Proven ability to mentor current team members and demonstrate leadership capabilities, to guide future team growth.
- You love testing!
Hard skills:
- Exploratory testing with tools (Clumsy, Fiddler, Dev Tools, Wireshark, etc.).
- Exploratory with some automation (Postman, RestAPI, etc.).
- Strong knowledge and experience using testing heuristics and oracles.
- Proficient in defect logging and defect triaging.
- Good spoken and written English language skills.
- You have experience leading an established testing function and are happy to lead by example.
- You possess comprehensive knowledge of the fundamentals of testing in a context-driven way.
- You can profile risk at every level of the tech stack.
